💍 Never Give Up Hope: Today, I’m Engaged!

Published on July 16, 2025 at 5:25 AM

I still don’t quite believe I’m writing these words, words that once felt like a fantasy someone else was allowed to live, but never me.

I’m engaged!

Take that in with me for a second. Let it settle like sunlight after rain.

Because I wasn’t supposed to be here. Not after the lies. Not after the betrayal. Not after loving someone who loved me just enough to keep me broken. There was a time I didn't just lose faith in love, I lost faith in myself.

I believed I was too ruined to be chosen. Too guarded to be safe. Too strong to be soft again.

But life, as it turns out, has a rhythm that doesn’t always match our timing. Sometimes it waits until we’ve put all the broken pieces down, until we’ve stopped begging for what was never meant for us, and only then does it hand us something real. Something beautiful. Something lasting.

🌿 The Road to This Moment

I didn't find love when I was searching. I found it when I was becoming.

Becoming whole again.
Becoming quiet enough to hear my own voice.
Becoming fierce about what I deserved, and gentle with the wounded parts that still didn’t believe it.

I journaled when I wanted to scream. I prayed when I wanted to numb. I sat in stillness long enough to face the echo of my own heart. And I promised myself something: if love never came again, I would still be enough.

But it did come.

Not as a whirlwind or a flash. It came slowly, like dawn stretching across a tired sky. He saw me, not the mask, not the scars, but me. And more importantly, I saw myself in his eyes and didn’t flinch.

💬 The Moment He Asked

It wasn’t over-the-top or loud. It was soft. Sacred. Exactly the way it needed to be. He asked with tears in his eyes and a steadiness in his voice that told me: this wasn’t a fairytale....it was earned.

And with my “yes,” I didn’t just say yes to him. I said yes to every version of myself that thought she'd never get here.

I said yes to the girl who cried on the bathroom floor.
To the woman who walked away even when her heart was begging her to stay.
To the warrior who rebuilt her life with trembling hands and a steady soul.

💫 What This Ring Really Means

This isn’t just a ring. It’s a reminder.

A reminder that time heals when we let it.
That not all endings are tragedies.
That becoming whole on your own makes room for someone who will love all of you.

So, if you're still in the middle of your story, if your heart feels like it’s been shattered

and taped back together one too many times, please hear this:

Don’t give up....
Not on love.....
Not on healing....
Not on the soft and sacred thing still waiting for you just up ahead.

📖 From My Heart to Yours

I’m not here to tell you it was easy. I’m not here to wrap this in a bow and pretend I didn’t bleed for this joy.

But I am here to tell you it was worth it. Every tear. Every quiet night. Every “maybe tomorrow” that finally became today.

This moment, this ring, was once only a dream I didn’t dare say out loud. Now, it’s my truth. And it can be yours too.

Hold on.
Stay tender.
Let hope in, even if it’s only a flicker.

Because one day…
You’ll look down at your own hand, feel your heart thud in your chest, and whisper to the past: “We made it.”

With all my love and faith in what’s to come,
Julia 💕
